Néstor Daniel Vargas is a sociologist from the University of Antioquia and holds a Master's degree in Education from the same university. His work experience focuses mostly on marginalized indigenous and Afro-Colombian communities. He is part of the academic committee of the undergraduate program "Pedagogy in Rurality and Peace" led by the National Faculty of Public Health, the Faculty of Education, and different rural organizations in the country. He currently dedicates himself to university teaching, research and extension work in solidarity with rural communities and territorial peace building.

Scott Tuttle is the founder and president of the Suru Institute. He is also a research associate with the Institute for Policy and Social Research which is affiliated with the University of Kansas, where Scott is a PhD candidate in sociology. His research focuses primarily on social inequalities in labor markets, especially with regard to race and ethnicity.
