
Scott Tuttle is the Founder and Executive Director of the Suru Institute. He earned his PhD in Sociology from the University of Kansas in 2023, where his research focused on immigration, labor markets, and racial inequalities.
He currently works in Research and Development for the Jackson County, Missouri court system and serves as an adjunct professor at Johnson County Community College and Park University.
Scott also holds a master’s degree in Rural Sociology from the University of Missouri (2012) and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Missouri State University (2007). He served in the United States Peace Corps in Niger, West Africa (2008–2010), and spent two years living in Mexico (2013–2015), where he worked as an English instructor.
