Scott Tuttle Founder

Scott Tuttle is the founder of the Suru Institute. He earned his PhD in Sociology from the University of Kansas in 2023, with a research focus on immigration, labor markets, racial inequalities, and quantitative methodology. He previously earned his master’s degree in rural sociology from the University of Missouri in 2012 and his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Missouri State University in 2007. He served in the U.S. Peace Corps (2008-2010) as a volunteer in Niger, West Africa, and also lived in Mexico for two years (2013-2015) working as a teacher of English as a Second Language (ESL).

    Scott Tuttle is the founder of the Suru Institute. He is also a Management Analyst for the 16th Judicial Court of Jackson County, Missouri, in the Office of Assessment and Development and an adjunct faculty member for Park University and Johnson County Community College. He has served as a lecturer at the University of Kansas, where he earned a PhD in Sociology. His research focuses on immigration, labor markets, social stratification, and local policy.
